Cultivating Unity

“We are so happy to be invited to arrange one of our summer retreats at Simply Happy,” says Koldo Aldai, spiritual facilitator of the Spanish AROA Association. In August 2025, more than 30 men and women from across Spain gathered at Simply Happy to cultivate and celebrate unity.
“Our work incorporates a wide range of traditions and practices, some of them very ancient,” Aldai explains. “We begin each day with a gathering at the Miradouro, the viewpoint overlooking Simply Happy, where we greet the sunrise in silence, meditate, and express gratitude for life.”
Throughout the day, participants take part in various activities; singing, prayer, teachings, dance, and music; all designed to nourish both spirit and connection. “Stillness in nature is also essential,” adds Aldai.
He emphasises that these retreats offer a tangible experience of community and friendship, one that participants carry with them long after they return home. “When we experience true union, we are inspired to transcend duality in life,” he reflects. “With the wonderful facilities at Simply Happy, we’ve been able to focus more on the spiritual work that unites us.”
For the team at Simply Happy, hosting the AROA group has been a joy. It’s been a true pleasure to welcome such warm, open-hearted, and inspiring people into our space.
