Our accommodations range from cosy rooms to charming cabins and spacious traditional Portuguese stone houses. You'll also find a restaurant, a shared kitchen, and private kitchen options in some houses.

Accommodation

Short or long stay:
For short stays, we offer single or shared twin rooms, each with a private bathroom and access to a shared kitchen. For longer stays, guests can enjoy a fully equipped stone house with a private kitchen. Bedding, extra blankets, towels, hand soap, and shower gel are provided. Please note that Simply Happy is not a fully developed hotel facility.

Food:
Currently, our restaurant serves lunch from Monday to Friday. For other meals, you’re welcome to use the shared kitchen—or your private kitchen, if you're staying in one of the houses.

Please note:
Simply Happy is located in a remote village with no shops nearby, so we recommend picking up groceries on your way here—Arcos de Valdevez is a convenient stop. We do plan to open a small convenience store soon. While a rental car can be helpful, it's not essential (see Travel & Location for more info).

Due to the mountainous terrain, some of our cabins and houses may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. However, we offer two accessible rooms located near the restaurant for easier access.

A peaceful, dedicated space for meditation and mindfulness, designed to help you unwind and reconnect (coming soon).

Fully equipped shared kitchen for guests, ideal for preparing your own meals or sharing with others.

Livestream and Cinema Facility

Facilities for livestreams, workshops, and movie nights, equipped for both community events and private use.

Hiking paths

Direct access to scenic hiking trails through lush gardens, hills, and valleys, offering breathtaking views.

High-speed Internet

High-speed WiFi and ethernet is available throughout the property.

Simply Happy is located in the north of Portugal in the village of Oucias, a half-hour drive from the town of Arcos de Valdevez.

By bus & taxi:
From Porto airport (OPO), there is a direct bus to Arcos de Valdevez (1:50 h) departing five times a day. Tickets can be bought online. For timings and booking, see: Bus from OPO

Rede Expressos has several daily departures from Porto, mostly from Porto Campanhā station, but also from the airport. For timings and booking, see: Bus from Porto

From Arcos de Valdevez, you can hire a taxi or Uber to Simply Happy (about €15).

By car:
It takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach Simply Happy by car from Porto airport. Use the above link for navigation or type "Oucias" or "Simply Happy (Arcos de Valdevez)" into Google Maps.

There is free parking at the entrance of Simply Happy, right in front of the restaurant.
